This game is well-made all the way around. Fantastic storyline with several plot twists, particularly with the reliability of the narrator. The game has fantastic art style with great attention to detail on the "monsters" and the characters themselves, all while underscoring the importance of the vigilance needed in these types of situations. The details of this game really do put a spooky feel on an already spooky situation. I highly recommend playing this game through its entirety because of the different endings and dialogues throughout the game. It really puts into perspective exactly how distorted the narrator's perception of reality was. Overall, a fantastic game and I was impressed by all the details of it, both large and small. Very well done!!
[Spoilers] This is a great story. I honestly really felt bad for Arika from the moment I decided to go chill with Bryan, knowing right well that it would be a mistake. The art style was great and every step of the way, it was chilling. The moment I began to fight the eye monster, it became fairly clear that I was likely dealing with a drug situation - and it made it sad knowing that Arika would have to not only defend herself but live with this terrible trauma.
I liked the moment when Akira was almost beaten down by the witch but managed to pull things together to let positive affirmations shine through, but nonetheless it was still clear that her life was going to get much worse. When the detective told me I killed in self defense, I wasn't actually surprised, but I could empathize with this girl a lot. Here she is - an outcast, feeling unloved. Now she had to suffer an even worse fate of not only being unloved but having positive evidence against her of being this gruesome, thorny girl. Great story, I really found myself attached to Arika.
